Introductory Events SoSe 2026
At the beginning of the lecture period in the summer semester, we offer various events with helpful information to make it easier for you to get started with your studies. The offers are aimed both at students who completed their Bachelor’s degree at the University of Stuttgart and at external prospective students. Here is a brief overview of the events:

Introductory Talk
The introductory talk will take place on Wednesday, 08.04.2026 from 11:30 to 13:00 in V27.02 and will be held by the student council, the Dean of Studies, and the program management. Topics covered include the structure of the program, information on exams, and points of contact for organizational, academic, or personal questions.
Socializing
The general socializing will take place on Wednesday, 08.04.2026 from 19:00 at the campus bar Unithekle (Allmandring 17, 70569 Stuttgart) on Campus Vaihingen. Feel free to join, get to know your fellow students, and chat informally with experienced Master’s students. No registration is required.
Master’s Planning Workshop
On Thursday, 09.04.2026, the Master’s Planning Workshop will take place in V57.01, addressing the question: “How do I plan my Master’s?” You may have already noticed that there are over 280 modules to choose from. It can quickly become overwhelming. For this purpose, we offer a workshop that begins with a short presentation followed by a large Q&A session.
The aim is NOT to say “this is how you have to do it” or “these modules are the best/easiest”, but rather to show what tools are available, what you should consider, and the trade-offs of different approaches. Based on FLURUS experience, this is interesting not only for external Master’s students and international students, but also for internal ones. The slides will be uploaded later, but here you can ask all the questions about the Master’s that keep you up at night. Afterwards, there will also be an opportunity to come to the student council and exchange ideas.

FLINTA Meeting
On Tuesday, 14.04.2026 at 18:00, we are organizing a FLINTA meeting for all women, non-binary, intersex, trans, and agender people from our program. People who have been studying in the Master’s or Bachelor’s for longer are also explicitly welcome. We want to give you space to network, ask us questions, and have a nice evening.
We will meet in our student council rooms (V27 -1.001). It will be a cozy get-together with snacks and drinks.
Socializing for Internationals
On Wednesday, 15 April 2026, from 1.00 pm to 2.00 pm, we’ll be welcoming international students and those who don’t speak German. We’ll be meeting in our student council rooms (V27 -1.001). Here you can network, chat and ask us any questions you may have. There’ll be pizza too.
Checklist for Starting Your Studies
- Register at mein.flurus.de for the mailing lists. After verification as an LRT student, you will get access to:
- Mailing lists: in addition to the list for all Master’s students, we also have a digital pinboard, lists for job offers/thesis topics, and for events. If you already completed your Bachelor’s in Stuttgart, you can now sign up for the Master’s list.
- FLURUS ILIAS courses, where we provide digital learning materials for many modules.
- The FLURUS Telegram group.
- The Master’s Discord server.
- Attend as many MESE events as possible and get to know people and information.
