Projects
Here you will find an overview of our projects and activities.
ESE/MESE
At the beginning of each semester, we organize an introduction for new first-year students—in summer in a simpler form for master’s students, and in winter for a week for both bachelor’s and master’s students. There is a barbecue, city and campus rallies, and plenty of opportunities to get to know your fellow students. More detailed information can be found here.
EWOK
On the weekend before the start of lectures in the winter semester, we spend a weekend in a hut on the Swabian Alb with those first-year students who want to join. Participants have the opportunity to get to know each other, form friendships for their studies, and gain insight into the structure of the degree program. More detailed information can be found here.
EpiLuR
Every year, together with the institutes of the faculty, we offer a lecture series, which aims to give first-semester students an overview of our faculty and to present the breadth of their activities to the students. As part of this, the university provides a Swabian snack with butter pretzels.
Excursions
We regularly offer day trips and multi-day excursions for our students, giving them insights into aerospace companies. Currently, there are excursions:
- to the International Aerospace Exhibition Berlin (ILA)/Paris Air Show (Le Bourget)
- to Munich (aviation engines)
- to Bremen (space travel)
- to Hamburg (aircraft construction)
- to the European Transonic Windtunnel (ETW) in Cologne
- to the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) in Darmstadt
- to the Technical Service Center 61 in Manching
- to some companies as day excursions
Here you have the chance to get in direct contact with potential employers. More detailed information can be found here.
StepIN
Every year in November, we also organize a company contact fair for LRT students and other interested parties with many major industry players. Here students have the opportunity to find theses, internships and jobs in the field of aerospace engineering. More detailed information can be found here.
Spacenight
Annually in the summer semester, we throw an intergalactic party in the foyer of Pfaffenwaldring 47 with over 1000 guests. We provide atmosphere, music, and drinks at student-friendly prices. More detailed information can be found here.
Sale of Study Materials
We manage the study materials provided to us (by both lecturers and students) and print them out for you. For the bachelor’s program, this runs via Ilias and the copy shop. We print and sell materials for the master’s program ourselves.
Further information can be found here for the Bachelor and for the Master.
Public Relations
Public relations also play an important role; here we actively maintain a Facebook and Instagram page in addition to this website. In addition, there is an LRT server on Discord and a Telegram group. You can find the links to join here. We also sell the merchandise collection of our degree program and merchandise of the student council.
GAERO-Fest
Every year in summer, one of the faculty institutes hosts the graduation ceremony for our master’s students in the White Hall of the New Palace. We strongly support the institute in both preparation and implementation on the day. More detailed information can be found here.
University Events
We are repeatedly represented at various public relations events of the university, sometimes together with our faculty and sometimes on our own. Examples are the Day of Science or the University Day.
Networking Meetings
Several times a year, we attend meetings with other student councils in Germany, Europe, or worldwide to gain new input for our work and our offerings for students. These include, for example, FaTaMa (the Mechanical Engineering Student Council Conference) and EMESCC (European Mechanical Engineering Student Council Congress).
